Swedish author, born 1954 in Gothenburg. Has won national and international acclaim for her crime series featuring police inspector Irene Huss. The German editions have sold more than 1,5 million copies. The first six volumes of the series have been filmed by Illusion Film in Sweden. Six new episodes - still with Angela Kovács as the charismatic detective - will air in the early months of 2013.
Rights to the books have been sold to a long list of countries: Denmark, Germany, Norway, Finland, Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, France, USA, The Netherlands, Italy, Turkey.

In early 2010 Helene Tursten was shortlisted for the prestigious French litterature prize, 11e édition du Prix SNCF du polar, for the French translation of her novel Tatuerad torso (Tattooed Torso).
